Tasting Notes:
Extremely wet winter led into mid March bud burst. A lovely growing season with days of steady warmth and sunshine, and cool nights throughout the summer. The growing conditions brought on an early harvest.
We were fortunate to harvest our fruit prior to the horrific wild fires that broke out early October in Napa Valley. We continue to make a full bodied wine, with intense dark color. A bouquet full of dark dark cherry, chocolate and toasty dark rich fruit. Velvety and balanced tannins for a juicy finish on the palate. Will pair nicely with food. Ready to drink now and will hold for years.
With over 7000 entries, the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is one of the most competitive blind wine tasting events in the country. Our Steelemack Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 vintage has medaled twice in this competition. A testament to our great wine making team!
